CD95 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein. It is expressed by activated T and B cells, Reed-Sternberg cells, Hodgkin's cells, thymocytes, as well as heart, lung, liver, and ovarian cells. Fas-ligand (CD95L) or monoclonal antibodies bound to CD95 can induce apoptosis. Cayman Chemical's CD95 monoclonal antibody can be used for immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical (IHC) of frozen tissue sections analysis for CD95 on samples of human origin. The antibody can also be used for flow cytometry and to induce apoptosis of cultured cell lines. It does not work for immunoblotting or IHC on paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Other applications for use of this antibody have not yet been tested. |
