Chaperonin 10 (Cpn10, Heat Shock Protein 10, HSP10) (Chlamydia)

Cat no: C3470A

Chaperonin 10 (Cpn10, Heat Shock Protein 10, HSP10) (Chlamydia)

Homologs of E. coli GroES make up a family of small heat shock proteins with an approximate molecular mass of 10kD (Hsp10s). Hsp10 acts as a cochaperone and interacts with members of the Hsp60 family (GroEL in E. coli) to promote proper folding of polypeptides. In chlamydia, cpn10 is thought to interact with cHsp60, a reported immunopathological antigen (2), identifying cpn10 as a potential contributor to an immunological response (1). \n \nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunocytochemistry and ELISA. Other applications not tested. \n\nRecommended Dilution: \nWestern Blot: 0.25ug/ml \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional Info

Detects a 15kD protein, corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of cpn10 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots, in C. trachomatis infected cells. This antibody will not react with the human or mouse cpn10 homolog nor with E. coli GroES.
