Chloride intracellular channel protein 1 (CLIC1) is a part of the CLIC family of proteins. This family of proteins reconstitute in phospholipid vesicles and have been shown to have chloride channel action. CLIC1 may rotate between membrane-bound and soluble forms since it has been seen as a membrane protein and in the cytoplasm. When there is a lack of detergent, CLIC1 becomes membrane-bound and can act as an anion-selective channel. Recently, it has been shown that CLIC1 is required in angiogenesis and has a part in controlling integrin cell surface expression. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.25ug/ml detects CLIC1 on 10ug of human liver tissue lysate. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human liver tissue lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
