Chondrotin sulfate proteoglycan 5 may act as a growth and differentiation factor in neuritogenesis. It may also induce ERBB3 activation. It is expressed in the brain only and localises to the cell membrane; endoplasmic reticulum and golgi membranes; and in neurons to the synaptic junctions. This protein is N-glycosylated, O-glycosylated and phosphorylated. There are three isoforms produced by alternative splicing. A number of forms with varying molecular weights have been observed for this protein. This is possibly the result of differences in glycosylation, phosphorylation and protein cleavage.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot and direct ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
