Diphtheria Toxin catalyzes the ADP-ribosylation of eukaryotic aminoacyl-transferase II (EF-2) using NAD as a substrate. This reaction forms the basis for its toxicity toward eukaryotic organisms. The toxin is secreted as a single polypeptide chain of about 63kD, it is then processed to form A and B fragments both of which appear to be required for toxicity. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Recommended Pair: Capture: D8065-48B Detection: D8065-48A Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
