DNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase 3B (Dnmt3b) is a DNA methyltransferase that is essential for mammalian development potentially through its transcription and repression activity (1).It is one of three different families of DNA (cytosine-5) methyltransferases, Dnmt1, Dnmt2, \nDnmt3 (Dnmt3a and Dnmt3b).Dnmt3a and Dnmt3b form complexes with the major maintenance enzyme Dnmt1 (2). Depletion of Dnmt3b has been shown to induce apoptosis of \nhuman cancer cells, and reactivate methylation-silenced gene expression (3).Methylation defects in ICF syndrome may also result from impaired stimulation of Dnmt3b activity (4).\n \nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry.
