Heat shock protein (HSP40) serves as a molecular chaperone. It consists of 340 amino acids and is involved in protein folding, the assembly and disassembly of protein complexes, renaturation of denatured proteins, prevention of protein aggregation, and protein export. HSP40's J domain interacts with HSP70, stimulating ATPase activity. The HSP40 protein also stimulates the association between HSC70 and HIP. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer
