FAM3A (Family with Sequence Similarity 3 Member A)

FAM3A, (Family with sequence similarity 3, member A) also known as "2-19" is a member of a short-chain four alpha-helical bundle cytokine family. Little is known about it other than it is expressed in vascular endothelium and pancreatic duct epithelium. It is synthesized as a 230 amino acid (aa) precursor that contains a 33aa signal sequence and a 197aa mature region. It will likely be glycosylated with a molecular weight around 22kD. Mature human FAM3A is ~93% aa identical to mature mouse and rat FAM3A.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nDirect ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml;. The detection limit is ~13ng/well.\nWestern Blot: 1-2ug/ml; Using a colorimetric detection system, the detection limit is ~25 ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions. \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nHybridoma: \nmouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, NS0-derived, recombinant human FAM3A (rhFAM3A; aa 34-230: Accession # AAH08912).\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
