Fibroblast growth factor 14 (FGF14/FHF4) is a member of the intracellular FGF homologous factor family (iFGFs), a unique group of FGFs (FGF11-14) expressed in neurons that have no ability to activate tyrosine kinases. FGF14 is a critical factor for the functional maintenance of a various areas of the central and peripheral nervous systems.
