Heregulin (NDF, GGF, Neuregulin)

Heregulin (HRG) or neu differentiation factor (NDF) binds to c-erbB-3 and cerbB-4 receptors on mammary and neuronal cells with low and high affinities, respectively. HRG/NDF exists in several isoforms, which are classified in two groups, a and b that differ in their EGF-like domain and in receptor binding affinity. It is also excellent for the detection of HRG by Western Blot.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Not suitable for Immunohistochemistry. Other aplications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nWestern Blot: 5-10ug/ml for 2 hours at RT\nThe optimal dilution should be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nHRGb1 recombinant protein or LS174T cells\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recognizes human Heregulin. Reacts weakly with a-HRG and strongly with b-HRG. Does not inhibit the binding of HRG to ErbB receptors but it efficiently blocks the HRG-induced proliferation and differentiation of cultured human mammary cells. \nSpecies Crossreactivity: mouse.
