Herpes Simplex Virus II (HSV II)

It is well-suited for detection of HSV in human cellular material obtained from superficial lesions or biopsies and for the early identification of HSV in infected tissue cultures.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunohistochemistry (Formalin, paraffin): 1:50-1:100 For 30 min at RT. Requires boiling with 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 20 minutes. Cool at RT for 20 minutes.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nHerpes Simplex Virus infected cells or tissues\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Reacts with HSV type 2 specific antigens and with antigens common for HSV types 1 and 2. Reacts with all the major glycoproteins present in the viral envelope and at least one core protein as determined by crossed immunoelectrophoresis. Does not crossreact with CMV and Epstein-Barr virus. Species Crossreactivity: Herpes Simplex Virus infected tissues and cells.
