Histidine Decarboxylase (HDC)

Histidine decarboxylase (HDC) is the enzyme catalyzing the conversion of histidine into histamine. HDC can be found in the histamine secreting ECL cells of some species as well as in the mast cells.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence microscopy and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nImmunohistochemistry: Frozen and paraffin sections.\nImmunofluorescence Microscopy: 1:1000-1:1500 with overnight incubation at 4 degrees C.\nOptimal dilution to be determined by the researcher.\n\nRecommended Positive Control: \nStefanini-fixed frozen sections of rat fundus\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognzies Histidine Decarboxylase. Detects the 54kD and 73kD forms in addition to a 63kD form (rat stomach). Absorption with 10-100ug immunogen per ml diluted antiserum abolishes staining. Species Crossreactivity: human, rat, mouse, canine and guinea pig.
