Histone H1 (Glycerol Free)

Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Nucleosomes consist of approximately 146 bp of DNA wrapped around a histone octamer composed of pairs of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4). The chromatin fiber is further compacted through the interaction of a linker histone, H1, with the DNA between the nucleosomes to form higher order chromatin structures.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:200\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes bovine Histone H1. Specifically binds to the Histone H1 to protein found in nucleosomes of all eukaryotic cells. Differences between H1 subfractions of one species are greater than the differences across species. No crossreactivity was observed with other Histone core proteins H2a, H2b, H3 or H4. Species Crossreactivity: all mammals. Does not crossreact with the chicken linker histones H1 or H5.
