Histone H2A, H4, phosphorylated (Ser1)

Histones are relatively small proteins that contain a high proportion of positively charged amino acids, e.g., arginine and lysine. This positive charge allows histones to bind tightly to the negatively charged DNA. There are five basic types of histone molecules called H1, H2A, H2B, H3, and H4. Histones are abundantly present in virtually all eukaryotic cells.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended DIlutions:\nWestern Blot: 1:2000-1:10,000 detects phosphorylated Histone H2A,H4 (Ser1) in 10ug of acid-extracted proteins from colcemid-arrested HeLa cells. Acid-extracted proteins from untreated HeLa cells and from colcemid-arrested HeLa cells were resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with H5110-08S (1:5000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nRecommended Secondary Antibodies:\nI1904-39: IgG, X-Adsorbed (HRP) Pab Gt xRb\nI1904-40A: IgG, H&L, X-Adsorbed (HRP) Pab Gt xRb\nI1904-46Q: IgG, H&L (HRP) Pab Gt xRb\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
