HLA-B associated transcript 3 (BAT3, G3, Large proline-rich protein BAT3, Protein G3)

BAT3, also known as protein G3 or HLA-B associated transcript 3, is a nuclear protein. Little is known about the function of BAT3; however, it has been shown to regulate apoptosis. In addition, BAT3 deficient mice had developmental defects in their lungs, kidneys, and brains. Human BAT3, orthologous to rat BAT3, is primarily expressed in the testis.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nWestern Blot: 1:1000 detected BAT3 in 10ug of rat thymus lysate\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nMolecular Weight:\nPredicted MW: ~120kD\nObserved MW: ~140kD\nAnalysis of endogenously expressed BAT3 in various tissues including the kidney reveals the existence of a 140kD full-length protein as well as truncated forms of BAT3 whose expression is developmentally regulated (Kwak, J., et al., 2008).\n\nPositive Control:\nRat thymus lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
