HLA Class 2 Antigen DP, DQ, DR

The human leukocyte antigen (HLA) system, also known as Major histocompatibilty complex is a group of genes residing on chromosome 6 and encodes cell surface antigens which process and present antigens to T helper cells.They are expressed primarily on antigen presenting cells such as B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, thymic epithelial cells and activated T lymphocytes. The HLA system is classified into two types, class I antigen (A, B, and C) which present peptides from inside the cells and class II antigen which present phagocytosed antigens peptides from outside the cells to T-lymphocytes. MHC class II molecules, is a transmembrane glycoprotein composed of an alpha chain (36kD) and a beta chain (27kD). Three loci, DR, DQ and DP, encode the major expressed products of the human class II region. The human MHC class II molecules bind intracellularly processed peptides and present them to T helper cells. Thus they have a critical role in the initiation of the immune response.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:25-1:50\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nTonsil\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
