Insulin-Like Growth Factor I Receptor, alpha (IGF1Ra) (BSA & Azide Free)

IGF-1R (Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 Receptor) consists of a- and b-subunits. These subunits are bound together by disulfide-links in a b-a-a-b configuration in the mature receptor. The a-subunit is completely extracellular. The b-subunit spans the membrane and the intracellular portion has intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity. \n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunoprecipitation and Bioassays Does not significantly inhibit IGF binding. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunoprecipitation: 2ug/mg protein lysate. (Use Protein G).\nBioassays: Acts as a weak IGF-like agonist (Thymidine incorporation into DNA).\nOptimal dilution to be determined by researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nPlacenta or breast carcinoma \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
