Interleukin 8, Recombinant, Human, 72aa (IL-8)

Recombinant Human IL-8 is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 72 amino acids (7-77) and having a molecular mass of 8452D. Recombinant Interleukin-8 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.\n\nSequence:\nThe sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Ser-Ala-Lys-Glu-Leu.\n\nDimers and Aggregates:\n(same/less than) 1% as determined by silver-stained SDS-PAGE gel analysis.\n\nBiological Activity:\nrHuIL-8 is fully biologically active when compared to standard. Specific Activity of IL-8 in chemotaxis of donor PBL neutrophils, threshold concentration corresponding to 10-100ng/ml.\n\nProtein Content:\nProtein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods:\n1. UV spectroscopy at 280nm using the absorbency value of 0.85 as the extinction coefficient for a 0.1% (1mg/ml) solution. This value is calculated by the PC GENE computer analysis program of protein sequences (IntelliGenetics). \n2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a standard solution of Eotaxin as a Reference Standard.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile dH2O, 0.1% HSA or BSA, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
