LAX1 (Lymphocyte Transmembrane Adapter 1, Linker for Activation of X Cells, Membrane-associated Adapter Protein LAX, LAX)

LAX1 (Linker for activation of X cells) is a 70kD member of a small group of T cell transmembrane (TM) adaptor proteins. It is upregulated on both T and B cells after activation, and likely downmodulates both BCR and TCR signaling. Human LAX1 is 398aa in length. Although its predicted MW is 44kD, it runs anomalously at 70kD in SDS-PAGE. It is a type III (no signal sequence) TM protein that contains a 37aa N-terminal extracellular region and a 340aa cytoplasmic domain (aa59-398). There are two potential isoform variants. One has an alternate start site at Met77, while a second shows a 13aa substitution for aa1-29. Over aa136-398, human LAX1 is 47% aa identical to mouse LAX1.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:32,000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
