LRRTM3 (Leucine-rich Repeat Transmembrane Neuronal Protein 3, UNQ803/PRO1693)

The Leucine-rich repeat transmembrane neuronal proteins (LRRTMs) are differentially expressed in the nervous system and were recently found to instruct presynaptic and mediate postsynaptic glutamatergic differentiation, with LRRTM1 and LRRTM2 most potent at inducing presynaptic differentiation. Recent evidence suggests that LRRTM3 promotes the processing of amyloid-precursor protein (APP) by the B-secretase BACE, leading to the proteolytic production of the AB42 peptide that is the main component of amyloid plaques. Furthermore, LRRTM3 maps to a region of chromosome 10 linked to both late-onset Alzheimer's disease (AD) and elevated plasma AB42 levels, suggesting that LRRTM3 is a functional and positional candidate gene for AD.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 0.5ug/ml\nImmunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 2.5ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nMouse Brain Tissue Lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
