Ly6K (Lymphocyte Antigen 6 Complex Locus K, CO16, CT97) (APC)

Ly6K (Lymphocyte antigen 6 locus K; also known as CO16) is a 26-27kD member of the Ly6 antigen family of molecules. It has restricted expression, being described in testis and skin. Ly6K is found in/on carcinomas, and is known to circulate in normal and tumor patient blood. Mature human Ly6K is a 121aa GPI-linked (presumed) glycoprotein. It is synthesized as a 165aa pre-pro-precursor that contains a 17aa signal sequence, a 121aa mature region (aa18-138), and a 27aa C-terminal pro-peptide. There are two potential splice variants, one that shows a 48aa substitution, and another that shows a 33aa substitution for aa73-165. It is not clear if mouse Ly6K is a true molecular ortholog of human Ly6K. In any event, over aa18-138, human Ly6K shares 39%aa sequence identity with mouse Ly6K.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4 degrees C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. APC is light sensitive.
