Mannan Binding Protein (MBP, Mannose Binding Protein, Mannan Binding Lectin, MBL)

Mannan-binding lectin (MBL) belongs to the C-type family of collectins. MBL functions as an opsonin which activates the alternative pathway of the complement system (2) on binding to microbial polysaccharides.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:4000 (4)\nWestern Blot: 1:1000 (1)\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:50 (1)\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional Info

Specific for chicken MBL. In ELISA reacts strongly to chicken MBL. Can be used as coating antibody (5ug/ml) and as detection antibody (1ug/ml) in a sandwich ELISA on chicken plasma or serum (3,4).
