MAP Kinase Kinase 5, phosphorylated (Ser311/Thr315) (Dual Specificity Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase Kinase 5, Map2k5, MAPKK 5, Mkk5, Prkmk5, MAPK/ERK Kinase 5, MEK 5, Mek5)

MEK5 is a dual specificity serine/threonine protein kinase belonging to the MAP kinase kinase family, which acts as a key regulator in a mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase cascade, and hence growth factor-induced cellular stimulation. MEK5 exists in naturally occurring MEK5alpha and MEK5beta splice variants, the former of which is known to specifically activate/regulate MAPK7/ERK5/BMK1, whilst the latter may act as a suppressor of MAPK7 activation. Activation of MEK5 itself is regulated by upstream MAP3K3/MEKK3, and phosphorylation of MEK5 at both the Ser311 and Thr315 sites has been implicated in cell proliferation.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:1000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
