Matrix Metalloproteinase 9, 92kD (BSA, Azide Free) (MMP-9, Gelatinase B, Collagenase 4)

MMPs are a group of enzymes involved in matrix degradation. They share some important characteristics, such as a common mode of activation, a conserved amino acid sequence in the putative metal binding-active site region, and inhibition by specific proteinase inhibitors known as tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs). Degradation of the extracellular matrix (ECM) is an essential step in tumor invasion and metastasis. The MMPs each have different substrate specificities within the ECM and are important in its degradation. MMP activity is dependent on the levels of activated MMP and TIMPs. MMP-9 is also known as collagenase IV or gelatinase B.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Not suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. \n\nRecommended Dilution: \nWestern Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2 hrs at RT.\nImmunoprecipitation: Native.\nOptimal dilution determined by the researcher. \n\nPositive Control: \nConditioned, serum-free medium from (TPA-treated) human fibrosarcoma HT-1080 or CCL-4 cells.\n\nCellular Localization: \nCytoplasmic\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
