Matrix Metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9, Collagenase 4, Gelatinase B)

The mammalian matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) degrade extracellular matrix in physiological and pathological processes. After cleavage of a signal peptide domain of about 20 amino acids, the MMPs are secreted in latent forms. Upon activation, the N-terminal propeptide domain is cleaved to generate the active forms of MMP. MMP-9 (92kD type IV collagenase, Gelatinase-B) contain the basic structure of propeptide, catalytic, and hemopexin domains. It is an important proteinase in tissue remodeling.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:2000\nImmunoprecipitation: 1:500\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
