MCL1 (Induced Myeloid Leukemia Cell Differentiation Protein Mcl-1, Bcl-2-like Protein 3, Bcl2-L-3, Bcl-2-related Protein EAT/mcl1, mcl1/EAT, BCL2L3)

Mcl-1 is an anti-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family of proteins. It has a pro-survival role in the early stages of apoptosis, and is thought to prevent cytochrome c release from mitochondria. Mcl-1 is also essential for embryogenesis and for the development and maintenance of B and T lymphocytes. Mcl-1 is a highly regulated protein induced by a wide range of survival signals, including cytokines and growth factors. During apoptosis, Mcl-1 is rapidly degraded by the proteasome pathway, and is also readily cleaved by caspases to produce a potent cell death promoting protein.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:2000\nWestern Blot: 1-3ug/ml, observed in lysates of human lung, in mouse and rat thymus, and in cell line K562 on ~35kD bands\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
