Moesin

The ezrin, radixin and moesin (ERM) proteins function as linkers between the plasma membrane and the actin cytoskeleton and are involved in cell adhesion, membrane ruffling and microvilli formation (1). ERM proteins undergo intra- or intermolecular interaction between their amino- and carboxy-terminal domains, existing as inactive, cytosolic monomers or dimers (2).\nPhosphorylation at a carboxy-terminal threonine residue Thr567 of ezrin, Thr564 of radixin, Thr558 of moesin), which disrupts their amino- and carboxy-terminal association, may play a key role in modulating the conformation and function of ERM proteins (3,4). Phosphorylation at\nThr567 of ezrin is required for cytoskeletal rearrangements and oncogene-induced transformation (5). Ezrin is also phosphorylated at tyrosine residues upon growth factor stimulation. Phosphorylation of Tyr353 of ezrin transmits a survival signal during epithelial differentiation (6).\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blotting. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nFlow Cytometry: 1:25\nWestern Blotting: 1:1000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
