ATP: AMP phosphotransferase (EC 2.7.4.3) from yeast
Reaction Equation:
ATP + AMP = ADP + ADP
Total Protein:
~1-30mg
pH:
6.5-7.5
Activity:
~3000U/ml
Specific Activity:
> 200U/mg protein (at 25 degrees C and pH7.5)
Unit Definition of Activity:
One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will convert 1.0umol ATP and 1.0umol AMP to 2umol ADP per min at 25 degrees C, pH 7.5. Note: 1 KU = 1000 units.
Contaminants:
ATPase (same/less than) 0.01%
Phosphoglycerate kinase (same/less than) 0.1%
Storage and Stability:
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
