N-Acetylgalactosamine is used as a starting material in carbohydrate chemistry and the development of glycotherapeutic compounds. In humans it is the terminal carbohydrate forming the antigen of blood group A. N-Acetylgalactosamine is necessary for intercellular communication, and is concentrated in sensory nerve structures of both humans and animals.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at RT for short-term only. Long-term storage is recommended at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
