NDRG3 (N-myc Downstream Regulated Gene 3, NDRG Family Member 3, 4833415O14Rik, FLJ13556, Protein Ndr3)

The NDRG (N-Myc downstream-regulated gene) family, consisting of NDRG1, NDRG2, NDRG3, and NDRG4, are a group of structurally related proteins with roles in cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, stress responses, and cell migration/metastasis (1-3). NDRG1 was originally identified as a protein that was up-regulated in N-Myc knockout mice (1). Proteins in the NDRG family, particularly NDRG1 and NDRG2, have been reported to be down-regulated in various cancer tissues, and have been suggested to function as a tumor suppressors (4,5).\nMembers of the NDRG family each have distinct expression patterns; NDRG3 is most highly expressed in the testis, prostate, ovary, and brain (2,6,7). NDRG3 has also been shown to be up-regulated by androgen in prostate cell lines and can promote cell growth in those cells (8).\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:1000\nImmunoprecipitation: 1:50\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
