NDST1 is an essential bifunctional enzyme that catalyzes both the N-deacetylation and the N-sulfation of glucosamine (GlcNAc) of the glycosaminoglycan in heparan sulfate. Modifies the GlcNAc-GlcA dissacharide repeating sugar backbone to make N-sulfated heparosan, a prerequisite substrate for later modifications in heparin biosynthesis. Plays a role in determining the extent and pattern of sulfation of heparan sulfate. Compared to other NDST enzymes, its presence is absolutely required. Participates in biosynthesis of heparan sulfate that can ultimately serve as L-selectin ligands, thereby playing a role in inflammatory response.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nWestern Blot: 1:500-1:1000\nImmunohistochemistry (formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded): 3ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nHuman small intestine, A549 cells.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
