Pgp (P-Glycoprotein, MDR Protein, Multi Drug Resistance Associated Protein)

P-glycoprotein, a plasma membrane associated molecule which is important in mediating resistance to cytotoxic drugs. In normal tissues P-glycoprotein is expressed in liver, kidney, colon, adrenal gland and lung. In malignant conditions increased expression of P-glycoprotein may be associated with multi-drug resistance, and the detection of this can have important consequences for treatment. \n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. \nOther applications have not been tested. \n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nImmunohistochemistry (Frozen/paraffin): 1:10-1:20. Requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections with 0.1% pronase for 10 minutess. \nOptimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher.\n\nHybridoma: \nSpleen cells from immunized BALB/c mice were fused with the cells of the SP2/0 mouse myeloma cell line.\n\nRecommended Positive Control: \nLiver, kidney or lung tissue\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
