Prostate Specific Antigen, Total (PSA, Kallikrein-3, Kallikrein III, Seminin, Semenogelase, g-Seminoprotein, P-30 antigen, KLK3)

PSA is a chymotrypsin-like serine protease (kallikrein family) produced by the prostate epithelium, and abundant in seminal fluid. PSA can be detected in the sera of patients with prostatic carcinoma. It is predominantly complexed to a liver-derived serine protease inhibitor, alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (ACT). A higher proportion of serum PSA is complexed to ACT in prostate cancer than in benign prostate hyperplasia. Anti-PSA is useful in the positive identification of metastatic deposits of prostatic origin.\n\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nRecommended Pair:\nFor the detection of total PSA, P9054-30 is suitable for use as the capture or solid phase antibody. Matched to P9054-26 as the detection or conjugate (label) antibody.\n\nHybridoma:\nHybridization of SP2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.\n\nSource: Ascites\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
