Prostatic Acid Phosphatase (Prostatic Acid Phosphotase, PAP, Acid Phosphatase Prostate, ACPP, ACP3, ACP-3)

Prostatic acid phosphatase is one of the two antigenic markers of prostatic carcinoma, the other being prostate specific antigen. It belongs to the kallikrein family of serine proteases and is suggested to act as a hydrolase to split phospharyl choline in semen and as a transferase. This antibody does not inhibit the enzymatic activity of PSAP. It reacts with non-neoplastic adult and fetal prostatic glands, primary and metastatic prostatic carcinomas. It shows no cross reaction with other phosphatases.\n\nCellular Localization: Cytoplasmic\n\nPositive Control: Prostate carcinoma\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
