Src homology 2 domain containing tyrosine phosphatase (SHP2), also known as PTPN11, is a 68kD member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase family. SHP2 acts downstream of growth factor receptors and cytoplasmic protein tyrosine kinases which transduce signals from the cell surface to the nucleus. The recruitment and activation of SHP2 is mediated through the binding of CD172a to its ligand CD47. SHP2 regulates a variety of cellular processes. These include transcription, embryonic development, cell growth, cell migration, differentiation, mitotic cycle, haematopoiesis and oncogenic transformation. As a result, dysregulation of the SHP2 gene has been linked to LEOPARD, Noonan and Noonan-like syndrome as well as acute myeloid leukaemia. SHP2 is ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels found in heart, brain, and skeletal muscle.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
