Superoxidase Dismutase, Cu,Zn (SOD Cu,Zn)

Superoxide Dismutases (SOD) are found in all aerobic organisms. Their physiological function appears to be to protect cells from free radicals by scavenging superoxide anions. They catalyze the dismutation of superoxide anions to oxygen and hydrogen peroxide. SOD Cu,Zn is a cytosolic enzyme. SOD Cu,Zn is a dimer of two identical subunits (M.W. 16,000).\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Gel Diffusion techniques. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:1000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 3 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
