Synaptojanin 1 [formerly known as synaptojanin] is an inositol 5-phosphatase which exists in two tissue specific isoforms (170 and 145kD). Synaptojanin is involved in clathrin-mediated endocytosis.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nCellular Localization: Cytoplasmic\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

This antibody is specific for the rat 145 and 170 KD proteins only. Species Crossreactivity: This antibody reacts with rat protein. It recognizes human protein very weakly. It does not react with any other species, including mouse.
