Syntaxin 6 is a 35kD type II integral membrane protein with two coiled coil domains and a carboxyl terminal membrane anchor. Immunoelectron microscopy studies show that syntaxin 6 is primarily localized to the trans Golgi network (TGN), and is partially co localized with AP 1 on clathrin coated membranes. During secretory granule maturation, syntaxin 6 and MPR ligand complexes are postulated to be transferred from immature granules to endosomes by clathrin coated vesicles, as evidenced by immunoelectron microscopy. These results suggest that syntaxin 6 mediates a TGN trafficking targeting endosome. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:32,000 Western Blot: 0.3-1ug/ml, observed in human lymph Node lysates on ~30kD bands Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
