Processing of the amyloid precursor protein (APP) by two different proteases, called alpha- and beta-secretase, is a central regulatory event in the generation of the amyloid beta peptide (Abeta), which has a key role in Alzheimer disease (AD) pathogenesis. TMEM59, a Golgi-localized protein, modulates the O-glycosylation and complex N-glycosylation steps occurring during the Golgi maturation of several proteins such as APP, BACE1, SEAP or PRNP. It inhibits APP transport and shedding.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1ug/ml\nImmunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 2.5ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nHuman Kidney Tissue Lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
