The V5 epitope tag is a small epitope, termed Pk, present on the P/V proteins of the paramyxovirus, SV5. \n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in RIA, Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nELISA: 1:1000-1:5000\nWestern Blot: 1:1000-1:5000\nImmunohistochemistry: Frozen\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nHybridoma: \nSP2/0 Ag14 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recognizes the V5 epitope tag. Detects recombinant proteins tagged with the epitope, some of which include transmembrane and secreted proteins. Usually, a 14aa tag is added to the recombinant proteins, although a smaller epitope of 9aa (that as a peptide inhibit the binding of the monoclonal antibody to its native protein) has also been successfully used. The 14 amino acid epitope is; gly lys pro ile pro asn pro leu leu gly leu asp ser thr. (The 9 amino acid epitope is underlined).
