Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor C (VEGF C, VEGF-A, Vascular permeability factor, VPF)

VEGF-C (~23kD) was cloned in 1996 and found to have a VEGF-homologous region that is 30% homologous to VEGF and 27% homologous to VEGF-B. VEGF-C is a ligand for both the VEGFr-2 (KDR/FLK1) and VEGFr-3 (FLT4) receptor tyrosine kinases.
