BAF57 (SWI/SNF-related Matrix-associated Actin-dependent Regulator of Chromatin Subfamily E Member 1, BRG1-associated Factor 57, BAF57 SMARCE1)

BAF57, also known as SMARCE1, is a core subunit of the SWI/SNF complex, which is required for transcriptional activation of genes normally repressed by chromatin. The SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex is critical for androgen receptor transcriptional and the BAF57 subunit facilitates direct interaction with the receptor. Studies suggest a blockade of the androgen receptor-BAF57 interaction may target agonisty-induced androgen receptor function. Data also suggest that the SWI/SNF complex is required for transcriptional activation by the estrogen receptor. ChIP assays demonstrated BAF57 is recruited to the estrogen-response promoter, pS2.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 0.5ug/ml\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:300\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nJurkat cell lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
