Caspase 3 is ubiquitously expressed and like other caspases is synthesized as an inactive (32kDa) proenzyme. Upon activation, Caspase 3 is cleaved at Asp28-Ser29 and Asp175-Ser176 thereby generating two subunits of 17kDa and 12kDa, respectively. Recent studies have implicated that Caspase 3 is associated with the induction of apoptosis. Activation of Caspase 3 occurs in response to variety of apoptotic inducers including Fas mediated apoptosis. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic and some nuclear. Positive Control: Tonsil, Jurkat cells Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry (paraffin-embedded sections). Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
