CD162 (P-Selectin Glycoprotein Ligand 1, PSGL-1)

120kD mucin-like glycoprotein forming homodimers and is a high-af?nity ligand for P-selectin (CD62P). Studies using PL1 and PL2 antibodies have shown that PSGL-1 is the major counter-receptor for P-selectin to mediate neutrophil initial attachment and rolling on activated vascular endothelium, both in vitro and in vivo. In peripheral blood CD162 is expressed by monocytes, granulocytes, T cells and some B cells. It is a blocking antibody, inhibiting PSGL-1 and P-selectin interaction. This antibody was assigned to the CD162 cluster of differentiation at the Sixth International Workshop and Conference on Human Leukocyte Differentiation Antigens held in November 1996 in Kobe, Japan.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry and Functional Assays. Other applications not tested. \n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:200. Recognizes the human CD162 cell surface glycoprotein, a 120kD molecule. In peripheral blood, reacts with monocytes, granulocytes, T-cells and a subset of B cells. Does not react with erythrocytes and resting or thrombin activated platelets. Acts as a blocking antibody since it inhibits the binding of P-selectin to PSGL-1 in a variety of assays.
