CD1b (Biotin)

The human CD1 genetic locus consists of five closely related genes. Three of the gene products (CD1a, CD1b and CD1c) have been officially clustered using antibodies and are expressed on cortical thymocytes, a subset of B cells, and on most professional antigen presenting cells. CD1 molecules have a specialized lipid antigen-presenting function.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nFlow Cytometry Protocol: \n1. Five x 10e5 cultured HPB-MLT cells were washed and incubated 45 minutes on ice with 80ul of C2252-02K at 10ug/ml. \n2. Cells were washed twice and incubated with S7973-88Pnt Streptavidin (PE).\n3. Wash three times, fixed and analyzed using a BD FACstar plus. \n4. Cells stained positive with a mean shift of 1.94 log10 fluorescent units when compared to a Mouse IgG1/Biotin negative control at a similar concentration.\n5. Binding was 81% blocked when pre incubated 10 minutes with 20ul of 0.5 mg/ml C2252-02J.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional Info

Recognizes human CD1b molecule of ~45kD. Specificity was confirmed using CD1b transfectants.
