CD49e (VLA-5, Integrin alpha 5 Chain)

CD49e is a type I membrane protein that associates non-covalently with integrin beta 1 (CD29) to form the heterodimer CD49e/CD29 (VLA-5). VLA-5 is expressed on mast cells, splenic B cells, thymocytes, T-cells and monocytes. The VLA-5 heterodimer forms the fibronectin receptor, which plays an important role in cell adhesion and migration.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry (Frozen).Other applications not tested. \n\nRecommended Dilution: \nFlow Cytometry: 1:50-1:100, Use 10ul to label 10e6 cells in 100ul.\nOptimal dilution determined by the researcher\n\nRecommended Secondary Reagents:\nIgG Goat anti hamster IgG:FITC\nIgG Goat anti hamster IgG:RPE \n.\nHybridoma: \nSpleen cells from immunized Armenian Hamsters were fused with cells of the mouse P3U1 myeloma cell line.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
