Primarily located in the cytosol, insulysin has been isolated from many different tissues and cell lines, and can degrade intact insulin, insulin B-chain, glucagon, denatured hemoglobin, alpha-amyloid protein, TGF-alpha and amylin. Recent work implicates insulysin in clearing beta amyloid plaques from the brain, and has generated much interest in Alzheimer's disease research.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA and Antibody Blocking Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nAntibody Blocking: 1ug peptide/1ug antibody\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nLysates of cell line K562\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 monthsat -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
