MAP2K4, phosphorylated (Ser80) (JNK-activating kinase 1, JNKK, JNKK1, MAPK/ERK kinase 4, MAP kinase kinase 4, MAPKK4, MAPKK 4, MEK4, MEK 4, MKK4, PRKMK4, SEK1, SERK1)

MKK4, also known as JNKK1 and SEK1, is a dual specificity kinase that belongs to the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. MKK4 is a direct activator of MAP kinases in response to various environmental stresses or mitogenic stimuli. MKK4 phosphorylate and activate p38 MAP kinase and JNK but not ERK 1/2 (1-2). JNK is activated by dual phosphorylation at Thr and Tyr by MKK4 and MKK7; although MKK4 will preferentially phosphorylate Tyr (3). MKK4 is also known to be a tumor suppressor, as mutations inactivating the MKK4 gene have been found in 5% of a wide variety of tumor types (4).\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:5000\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100\nImmunoprecipitation: 1:50\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
