PAK5, a PAK (STE20) type protein kinase, contains a N-terminal Cdc42/Rac interactive binding (CRIB) motif and a C-terminal kinase domain. The protein is a target of the Rho GTPases Cdc42 and Rac; however, binding of Cdc42 is not required for kinase activity. PAK5 has been shown to be highly expressed in mammalian brain and pancreas. Very little or no PAK5 has been detected in most other tissues. ESTs have been isolated from several tissue libraries, including normal brain and embryo and cancerous colon and germ cell. Caution: The PAK5 gene also is known as P21-Activated Kinase 7 (PAK7). Additionally, the name PAK5 has been used to refer to a distinct gene, P21-Activated Kinase 6 (PAK6).\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nImmunohistochemistry: Formalin fixed paraffin embedded sections\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
