RC74 (Related to CPSF Subunits 74kD, RC-74, CPSF, CPSF2, CPSF2L, FLJ10871, Integrator Complex Subunit 9, INT9, INTS9, Protein Related to CPSF Subunits of 74kD)

Formation of the mature 3' ends of the vast majority of cellular mRNAs occurs through cleavage and polyadenylation and requires a cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor (CPSF) containing, among other proteins, CPSF-73 and CPSF-100. RC-74 is an exclusively nuclear protein found in HeLa cells that has similar characteristics to CPSF-100. Like the complex that forms between CPSF-100 and CPSF-73, studies show that RC-74 may form a similar complex with RC-68 that is independent from the CPSF complex. This RC-68 / RC-74 complex may be involved in a pre-mRNA processing event other than cleavage and polyadenylation, such as the 3' end processing of a distinct subset of cellular pre-mRNAs encoding proteins required for G(1) progression and entry into S phase.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: HeLa nuclear extract (NB 800-PC9)\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 3 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Specific for human RC74 protein. Species Crossreactivity: Human. Other species not tested. Reactivity with mouse and X. laevis is expected owing to similarity of sequence between these orthologs and human RC74 at the site to which the epitope maps.
